360° Product Spins
A spin answers the question a still cannot: what does the other side look like. We render it from the 3D model rather than photographing a sample on a turntable, so every frame is lit the same way, nothing needs retouching between angles, and the product does not have to exist yet.
Custom quotePriced per product. If we have already rendered it, the model exists and a spin is mostly render time.
Why render a spin instead of shooting one
A photographed spin is a sample on a motorised turntable, shot one frame at a time. Every frame inherits whatever went wrong in the room: a reflection that drifts across a gloss finish as the product turns, dust that is in one frame and not the next, a label that catches the light on one side only. Each of those is retouched by hand, frame by frame.
A rendered spin has none of that to fix. The lights do not move, the camera orbit is exact, and the product is the geometry it was manufactured to, so the last frame matches the first. It also needs no sample, which matters most for products still in tooling and for finishes nobody has in stock.
Frames, video, or both
A spin is delivered in the form the page showing it needs. For an interactive viewer it is a sequence of stills around the full turn, commonly somewhere between 24 and 72 frames, which the shopper drags to rotate. For a listing, a social feed or a product page loop it is a short video of the same orbit. Both come from the same render, so ordering one and later wanting the other is an export, not a reshoot.
Every finish through the same orbit
Once the camera move is set, a second finish is a material change and another pass through the same orbit. Every finish turns at the same speed, from the same height, under the same light, so a shopper switching between them sees the product change and nothing else. It is the same economy behind our furniture and Amazon listing work: the expensive part is building the product once.
Getting a spin onto your store
Shopify’s product media covers images, video and 3D models, but a frame-by-frame spin viewer is not one of them. A spin goes on as a short video, which every theme already handles, or as an interactive viewer added to the theme. We can build either, because we also build the stores themselves.
If you want the shopper to turn the product freely and place it in their own room, the better tool is a 3D model with AR, and the same geometry produces both.
When a spin is the wrong answer
A spin spends most of its frames on the back and the sides. For a product whose interest is all on one face, such as a framed print or a flat wall panel, a handful of well-chosen stills does the job better and costs less. Spins earn their place on objects people pick up and turn over: small appliances, tools, bottles, footwear, furniture with a finished back. We will tell you which yours is before quoting.

Getting started
What to send us.
CAD, or a model we already made
STEP, OBJ, FBX, SolidWorks, Rhino or the native file. If we have rendered the product before, there is nothing to send.
The finishes
Every finish the spin should be rendered in, with samples, supplier codes or daylight photographs.
Where it will be shown
Your store, a marketplace, social or a sales deck, so the frame count, size and format suit the place it plays.
No CAD? A sample works
Photographs from six angles and a handful of measurements. It adds two to four days to the modelling stage.
Process
How it works.
- 01
Brief and quote
Product, finishes and where the spin will live. A fixed price and a date in writing.
- 02
Greyscale check
The model comes back untextured first, so details are corrected before anything is lit.
- 03
Test orbit
A quick low-resolution spin to agree the speed, the camera height and the framing before the full render.
- 04
Final render
Every finish through the agreed orbit. Two revision rounds are included.
- 05
Delivery
Frames, video or both, with full commercial rights transferred on final payment.
Questions
Common questions.
Still unsure about something? Email us and a real person replies, usually the same day.
How much does a 360 product spin cost?
It is quoted per product. The price turns on whether the model already exists, how many finishes you need, how many frames, and whether the spin is on white or in a set. If we have already rendered the product for you, most of the work is done.
How many frames should a 360 spin have?
Enough for the rotation to feel smooth at the size it is shown. Viewers commonly use somewhere between 24 and 72 frames for a full turn; more frames rotate more smoothly and weigh more. We render at the count your viewer expects and can supply a lighter set for mobile.
Is a rendered spin as convincing as a photographed one?
For hard materials such as metal, plastic, glass, timber and lacquer, yes, and it is more consistent from frame to frame. Soft textiles are where photography is hardest to beat, and we will say so if your product is one of them.
Is a spin included in the rendering packages?
The $200 Enhanced package includes one five-second motion loop, which can be a partial turn. A full interactive spin, or a spin in several finishes, is quoted separately.
Do I need a spin or a 3D model?
A spin is a fixed orbit that looks exactly as rendered on any device. A 3D model lets the shopper turn the product freely and place it in their room in AR, at the cost of simpler materials so it loads on a phone. Many stores use the spin on the page and the model for AR.
Can a spin be used on Amazon?
As video, yes: the same orbit is delivered as a short MP4 that can go into a listing’s video, subject to the video requirements on your seller account.
