Tile Visualization
Tile is close to the hardest case for a photo shoot. A collection runs to dozens of colourways and formats, each one has to be seen laid across a real surface at a believable scale, and no showroom can be rebuilt for every SKU. So we build the rooms instead, and re-tile them.
From $100per product: five images, 7–10 days. $200 adds room scenes and close-ups. Room libraries are quoted.
A library of rooms, re-tiled per collection
Our work for Tiles of Lucca, running since 2023, is built around a library of 3D interiors rather than a set of photographs. Each room, whether a bathroom, a shower, a kitchen, a hallway or a dining space, is modelled and lit once, then re-tiled for whichever product needs showing. The same bathroom appears in their portfolio twice, in two completely different schemes.
Building the room turns a new finish into a render rather than a location, a fitter and a week. Several hundred environments later, the set spans glazed zellige checkerboards, fluted terracotta, marble and travertine looks, and large-format limestone.
Scale, joints and glaze
Three things decide whether a tile render is believed. The format has to sit at its real size on the wall, which is only guaranteed when the room is built to dimension. The joints have to be the width and colour you specify, because grout changes how a whole wall reads. And a glazed tile has to vary from piece to piece, the way real glaze does, or the wall reads as a printed pattern rather than a surface.
That last point is why close-ups matter as much as the room. One Tiles of Lucca frame is a macro of a travertine-look floor at a grazing angle, with shallow focus showing the veining and the fine joint between two slabs.
Every surface it sells into
A tile is rarely sold for one place. The fluted terracotta in the Tiles of Lucca set appears as a bathroom wall lit by low sun and again as a kitchen splashback behind a stainless hob. A large-format travertine look runs down a hallway under an exposed beam ceiling. A limestone-beige floor carries through a dining room to brick arches and steel windows. Showing the same product in several rooms is what lets a buyer picture it in theirs, and with a room library it costs a render per room rather than a shoot per location. Kitchens, where tile meets cabinetry, are covered on our kitchen and cabinetry page.
Before the stock reaches a showroom
Because the rooms already exist, a new collection can be laid and lit from its face images and specifications as soon as the designs are final, so the website, the trade catalogue and the launch posts can be ready before stock reaches a showroom. It is the same advantage CGI gives any product still in production, applied to a category where the showroom has always been the bottleneck.
Not a tile visualiser app
Tile visualiser apps let a shopper photograph their own room and try tiles in it. That is a useful tool, and a different job. What we make is the finished photography of your collection: the hero images for your collection pages, the scenes in your catalogue and the close-ups in your social posts. Many brands use both, and the same tile textures can feed each.

Getting started
What to send us.
Face images of every colourway
High-resolution, evenly lit scans or photographs of each tile face, with as many variations per colourway as you have.
The specification
Format, thickness, edge, surface finish (gloss, matt, textured) and any relief or fluting, so the tile is built to its real geometry.
Laying patterns and grout
Which patterns and joint widths each collection is shown in, and the grout colours you recommend.
Physical samples, if you can
Colour is matched to the sample under daylight, which is more reliable than matching to a screen.
Process
How it works.
- 01
Brief and quote
Collections, rooms and where the images will be used. You get a fixed price and a delivery date in writing.
- 02
Rooms in greyscale
New rooms come back untextured first, so layout, scale and camera positions are agreed before tiling.
- 03
Tiling and lighting
Each collection is laid in its pattern and grout, and the scene is lit to show the glaze and relief.
- 04
Two revision rounds
Both included. Further colourways are re-renders of rooms that already exist.
- 05
Delivery
Every ratio you need, with full commercial rights transferred on final payment.
Packages

Questions
Common questions.
Still unsure about something? Email us and a real person replies, usually the same day.
How much does 3D tile visualization cost?
From $100 per product for five images, with two revision rounds included. The $200 Enhanced package is ten images including room scenes and close-ups. A reusable room library, or a full collection across several rooms, is quoted, with volume pricing for ongoing work.
What do you need to render our tiles?
Evenly lit face images of each colourway, the format and surface specification, and the laying patterns and grout colours you want shown. Physical samples help us match colour.
Can one room be reused for every collection?
Yes, and that is the point of building it. A room is modelled and lit once, then re-tiled for each collection, so the tenth collection costs a fraction of the first room.
Will the colour match the real tile?
We match to your physical samples under daylight and review the result with you before final delivery. Colour on screen also depends on the viewer’s display, which is why the sample, not a monitor, is the reference.
Is this the same as a tile visualiser app?
No. A visualiser lets a shopper try tiles in a photo of their own room. We produce the finished imagery of your collection for your website, catalogues and social channels. The two work well together.
How long does it take?
Seven to ten days for a single product, or ten to fourteen with the Enhanced package. New room libraries and full collections run two to four weeks depending on scope, with the date committed in writing.
