Griffin UGAV Prototype

From tracks to hover

Griffin is a UGAV prototype: a hybrid platform combining ground mobility with short-duration aerial capability. Two modes in one airframe is a difficult thing to sell from a spec sheet, because the interesting claim is the transition between them rather than either state on its own. The renders were built to carry that: the platform hovering on four deployed ducted rotors beside a building, and the same vehicle tracked and grounded across a riverbed and a cave mouth.

Re-rendered as the design moved

Rendered in Blender, and iterated over several versions of the prototype as the design moved. Visualization that keeps pace with a changing prototype is worth more than a single render of a frozen one: the scene is built once and each revision is re-rendered into it, so every version is presented on the same terms.
